Effects of different spreads

I am curious if the program will cut profits or look for bigger movements based on larger spreads. For example, should I expect a profit to be cut by 2 pips if the spread is 3 pips instead of just 1?

Both things can happen.
The robot will look for bigger movements based on the spreads only if the movements are small scale.
For this reason some trades can be lost and long-term profit could be lower.
In the same time, if the movements are normal scale, the profit will be cut by the spread.
Best thing is to use the free demo version on few preferred brokers and chose the broker with the best performance.
